We’re happy to help spread the news about Carnival of Love’s upcoming fundraiser, to be held at Central Lounge up in the northern part of Astoria (20-30 Steinway Street) on Friday, October 3. This event will have a “roaring twenties” feel to it, and they’ll be raising money to benefit the health of children, especially as it relates to obesity and diabetes. At the event you’ll get to enjoy music, a casino room, and additional entertainment. Festive attire (especially that which nods to the 1920s) is encouraged.

Carnival of Love is an Astoria-based non-profit organization “dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children in need by promoting their health and well being.” In their relatively short 6-year lifespan, they’ve raised close to a quarter of a million dollars that has benefitted pediatric cancer programs, a bone marrow drive that registered 25 donors, and they launched a Winter Wishes drive that granted over 100 wishes for underprivileged kids. This organization does very good things in the world.

Tickets are $50 in advance/$60 at the door. You can purchase them here.
