And it starts this weekend, Sunday, August 3—can you believe it’s almost August? This summer has just flown by. Shore Fest is again split across three Sundays in August—-August 3, 10, and 17 from 1 to 6:30 p.m. each day. It takes place all along Shore Boulevard between Ditmars Boulevard and Astoria Park South. All motorized vehicles will be prohibited from using this road as a throughway (apart from emergency vehicles, of course) during that time. Each day has a different theme: August 3rd—We Like to Move It! Stretch, bend, move and learn during free classes along the boulevard. Enjoy physical fitness activities, games and plenty of fun for all ages with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop. August 10th—Tastes of Astoria Exercise your taste buds during this showcase of Astoria’s culinary delights! Come out to feast on local flavors from the neighborhood and learn about healthy, sustainable food practices. August 17th—Make Shore BoulevART! Work out your imagination and display your creativity on Shore Boulevard! Join us to paint, play music, dance and much more. Let the river inspire you, while taking in amazing views of the city. So head on over to Shore Boulevard next to Astoria Park this weekend and hang out for the afternoon! Shore Fest is an NYC Dept. of Transportation Sponsored Temporary Pedestrian Street.
