This is not the first time this is going on in Astoria. Reply Sarah Bean June 19th, 2014 Yeah, actually. That’s what a grand opening party is for. You lose some money to welcome yourself to the neighborhood and allow them to try what you offer as a business. Every other business does it. You pay for advertising. You don’t ask the advertiser to pay you. Reply Tom Bosley June 19th, 2014 Yes you are right! Instead of charging $32 for unlimited beer and food they should give it away for free. Reply Sarah Bean June 18th, 2014 Who charges for a Grand Opening Party?! That’s so tacky! Isn’t the whole point to welcome the neighborhood to your establishment and try to gain some new customers with a nice offering like free food or drink? I guess they feel they don’t have to do anything to get customers or introduce themselves to the neighborhood. I guess we should be the ones welcoming and thanking them.
