Celebrate Mother’s Day in Astoria

It’s that time of year again, when we honor the special women in our lives.  Whether that means your mom, sister, grandmother or just a fantastic lady you respect, we’ve put together a list of local options to treat the important women in your lives.

Astoria Flea & Food

It’s rumored to be a nice weekend weather-wise, which will be make it all that more fun to visit the Astoria Flea & Food this Sunday with Mom.  Why have  just one cuisine, when you can indulge in many different things from specialty desserts to bubble tea, BBQ to gourmet rice balls, and much more.  Plus you get to soak in the amazing atmosphere of the expansive Kaufman Astoria studios – 36th Street between 35th and 34th Avenues, Astoria.

Koliba

My favorite Slovak restaurant, Koliba is honoring Moms, but we’re grateful that instead of a prix-fixe, they’ll feature their regular menu.  Some of my personal recommendations include the pork or chicken schnitzel, the fried langos (pictured above) or the decadent fried cheese with a side of peasant-style potatoes and homemade tartar sauce.  31-11 23rd Avenue, Astoria. 718.626.0430

La Guli Pastry Shop

Why not treat Mom to a beautiful (and as equally delicious) cake from La Guli Pastry Shop? Vesta

Vista Sky Lounge
