Have you seen this video of Astoria’s own chef George Rallis on Chopped? As usual, he’s up against three other chefs and they have to prepare an appetizer, entree, and dessert from mystery ingredients. How did George do? Here’s the video (we’ve included this link because this Flash video is rather persnickety). See how he handles the 100-year old egg, in particular.

At one of George’s restaurants, William Hallet, they’re doing a dinner on Monday, May 19 in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival release of Pulp Fiction (click image below to enlarge). It’s a 4 course meal for $60 and a cash bar ($70 for the meal and an open bar and $80 for the meal and and an open bar at the table). And you better believe there will be a Royale with Cheese (NSFW, of course). Enjoy your time there from 7 to 11 p.m. Purchase tickets here.

Even though the semifreddo was loose I still think he got robbed. That 100 year old egg mayo was pure genius… Great job regardles, Astoria represent!
