One of the best parts of summer in Astoria is the gigantic Astoria Pool, which is the largest WPA era pool in the entire city. We always get a little giddy just thinking about it. Well, the Parks Department has finally released the pool dates for 2014! They are:
Dates: June 27 to September 1, 2014 (as usual, the pool is open on Labor Day)
Times: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Aquatics programs, including swim instruction for youth and adults, as well as lap swimming dates have not been released yet, but will probably be available in a few weeks. That said, judging from last year, there is a chance that adult lap swim will be from July 8 to August 29—but don’t quote us on that. Adult Lap Swim will be from July 7 to August 29.
