Recently, we made a visit to Aji Sushi on Ditmars and really enjoyed what we tried. It’s a nice, dark sort of restaurant, which makes it good for date night. We felt very relaxed and had a good time. Here are a few photos of the things we ate, which range from rolls, to a short tower of sushi, to a sort of sushi sandwich! The ice cream was delicious, too. And get a load of that awesome sake serving vessel! Sake on ice! The Aji Sandwich – spicy salmon crunch, crabmeat, avocado and tamago inside pink soy paper and eel sauce. Hello, Rainbow Tartar! It’s 7 layers thick, including spicy tuna crunch, seaweed salad, spicy salmon crunch, avocado, lobster salad, ikura ( salmon roe), red tobiko, and kaiware (daikon radish sprouts), served with wasabi and yuzu sauces. This Tricolor Roll is made with salmon, avocado, and ginger wrapped with soy paper topped with fresh tuna, yellowtail, avocado, red tobiko, and homemade spicy and wasabi mayos. This roll was presented with dry ice! It is the Volcano Roll, eep fried with crabmeat, white fish, scallop, avocado, and cucumber, with five different housemade sauces. This tower of ice cream was amazing – green tea, red bean, and mango.
