turkey-cruditeIn case you haven’t  seen our big Thanksgiving post, here it is for your viewing pleasure.  There are also other last minute things to add to it such as Thanksgiving dinner at William Hallet, Mar’s Oyster Bar, and Sweet Afton (for after dinner drinks).

queens comfort donutsTonight is the first night of Hanukkah and whether you choose to celebrate at home or out, there’s plenty of options.  The Astor Room is rumored to have latkes with sour cream and apple sauce, or you can get a box of donuts (aka sufganiyot) at places such as Queens Comfort, Ovelia, La Casa Del Pan and others.

Queens_Comfort_BrunchAs you’ll see that many restaurants and cafes may be closed tomorrow in observance of Thanksgiving, they’ll be reopening on Friday and some will serve brunch.  Stop in at The Queens Kickshaw, Sugarfreak, Astor Bake Shop, Omonia Cafe and others.

leftovers-for-leftoversThe eating frenzy doesn’t stop after Thanksgiving, as seven eateries in LIC have banded together to create the Leftovers for Leftovers event on Saturday.  Participants will have the opportunity to try a small-plate special at each participating restaurant for just $8/piece between 4:00 p.m – 10:00 p.m.  and in some cases transportation will be included.  Fun!

The straightforwardly delicious Market Burger at LIC Market.

Also on Saturday, enjoy more brunch and other festive post-Thanksgiving activities at LIC Market (brunch starts at 10:00 a.m.) and a special Potluck and Open Stage event at Waltz Astoria that starts at 7:00 p.m.
