Where’s Waldo Shop Local in Astoria Starts This Sunday

Maybe you’ve heard from our Facebook or Twitter about this fun new Where’s Waldo event in Astoria? This July 20 local businesses are teaming up to create one huge local Where’s Waldo hunt, and you’re invited!

To play, simply visit any of the local businesses listed below and find Waldo! When you’ve found him, just ask the shop to provide you with an “I Found Waldo” card. Collect these cards to win cool prizes; collect 16 or more and be entered to win a huge grand prize packed with items from each of the 20 participating shops! Don’t forget: follow all the Waldo action, including additional prize giveaways, on Twitter and use the hashtag #WaldoInAstoria when you’ve found a Waldo.

The Story Nook at babyNOIR is hosting a month-long scavenger hunt in Astoria and Long Island City this coming July, as a creative way to bring business traffic to the local small businesses in the area.

Waldo, the famous children’s book character, is turning twenty-five this year. The Story Nook is celebrating the occasion with twenty local businesses in Astoria & Long Island City. From Inside Astoria at 28-07 Ditmars Blvd, to Little Ones Pre School at 474 48th Avenue, participants are to hunt for a small figure of Waldo at each business, and try to win the prizes. There is no charge to participate, and the game lasts for the entire month of July. There will also be a Found Waldo Party held at babyNOIR on July 31st, to conclude the Waldo Hunt and to give out all the special prizes to the participants.

In addition, SITE will be hosting a super fun party for adults who’ve found 8 or more Waldo’s. The party will feature an interactive Waldo photobooth, beer from The Queens Kickshaw, wine, snacks, prizes, discounts and more. Just find 8 Waldos by July 31st and your admission to the wrap party is free!
