Today we’re thrilled to bring to you a kid friendly post from our friends over at Queens Mamas! Take it away, ladies… 

Astoria is full of awesome things to do with kids and we have the skinny on some great happenings for little ones this weekend. Here are some events that you will not want to miss!

“Christmas Eve on Sesame Street” and Sesame Street Holiday Moments:

The Museum of the Moving Image is opening their doors to toddlers with an episode of Sesame Street. Big Bird camps out on his roof to prove to Oscar the Grouch that Santa Claus does, in fact, deliver the presents to every house on Christmas Eve. The episode will be preceded by a compilation of clips from Sesame Street holiday programs.

When: December 10th, 11th at 1:00 p.m.

Where: Museum of the Moving Image

Little Waltzers & Deedle Deedle Dees CD Release Concert:

The popular and cool kids band the Deedle Deedle Dees are having a CD Release party at Little Waltzers. They will be at a new venue and admission is only $15 per family which includes a CD and free snacks!

When: Saturday, December 10, 2011 10:30am until 12:00pm.

Where: Minos Cretan Society 22-27 33rd Street, Astoria, New York

Astoria Market and Grandma’s Kitchen at Bohemian Hall:

Steamed Plum Dumplings, Homemade Doughnuts, and indoor shopping await any beer loving family at the Beer Garden this weekend for the Astoria Market and Grandma’s Kitchen Menu. Yum!

When: December 11th from 12-6PM

Hot Cocoa at Queens Kickshaw:

This grilled cheese Mecca is serving up delicious hot chocolate from the Mast Brothers all season long so head over and enjoy some with the family.
