Well, here we are!  We’ve made it to Day 12 in our 12 Days of Giveaways here at We Heart Astoria.  We have been overwhelmed with your response, enthusiasm and love over the past couple of weeks; we appreciate your participation!  It’s been a lot of fun.

So, for our twelfth day of giveaways, we decided to create a package of giveaway prizes.  We have not one, not two, but three items!

Rejuvenate Face & Body, a wonderful local spa, has a $70 gift certificate; local Esculon Jewelry has a pair of lovely golden dottie earrings; and local clothing boutique KrisTEES is offering a $50 discount off any item $100 or more.  This is a really nice package and highlights the variety of local awesomeness that is in Astoria.

To enter, let us know what you plan to do for the long holiday weekend coming up – and here’s hoping you get at least a couple of days off from work.  A winner will be chosen at random on Friday, December 24th, Christmas Eve Day!  We’d love to start your weekend out on a fun note. Good luck – here’s hoping you win!

With my husband’s family in St. Louis—we’re still “the kids” there. A tin of popcorn and a honey-baked ham. It’ll be our job to take down the decorations before we leave.

My husband’s hopping on the M60 for a quick trip to pick up my dad at LGA (Astoria is sooo convenient), then there’s arriving to an American melting-pot Christmas dinner with a few Mexican additions. We’ll spend the next days eating good Japanese food (Totto Ramen!) and touring the world via Astoria’s restaurants, architecture, and art (by international artists at the Creator’s Coop!).

I am lucky enough to have all of next week off from work, so I’m going home to California to see my family! Can’t wait!

Going to check out the holiday store windows, drink some hot chocolate, and watch ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’.

I’ll be playing video games with my husband, relaxing at home (4-day weekend!) and brunching with friends. I’m so looking forward to it!

Luckily my office shuts down for a week, but I’m too broke to travel anywhere this year. So, I’ll be doing a deep cleaning and purging of junk in my apartment.

I’m going to have a life retreat and figure out my plan for the coming year! (this, of course, is post-Chinese food and movies, per my Jewish heritage.)

Heather

Warming our apartment with a nice orphans’ Christmas, and then relaxing.

Christmas eve party with friends, opening presents next to my Astoria bought tree on Christmas morning, and then probably heading to Kaufman for a movie!

Working most of the weekend :( but seeing my family in NJ for a bit, getting some sleep and eating great food!

I plan to pack up my car, travel to see my family in Massachusetts, especially my mom’s new puppies Bob and Ernie. These two golden retrievers are so full of life. Some time on a ski hill, and time walking in the snow, and some enjoying of the quiet of the country. I think some time away from the city gives me a chance to recharge and be back for 2011. Not to mention the family and friends I never get to see are pretty special too!

I will be helping my mom create a fish feast for our family Christmas Eve dinner and then we open gifts late that night. The next day we have a Christmas lunch with of all sorts of meat…lamb, prime rib and of course chicken saltimbocca…before we split up and visit in laws and other family members. Happy Christmas everyone!

Susan

my parents are coming into the city for a nice, quiet low key Astoria Christmas.

Unfortunately, I will be working protecting NYC and maybe fitting in some love time with my husband. Hopefully he will be doing the cooking, which oh god do I love his cooking!!!!!

I plan to sleep and eat so much that my boyfriend has to rub my belly.
