For those of you who aren’t familiar with this event (or need me to refresh your memory), Dish du Jour never fails to surprise with creative food demos and competitions that have certainly excited our palates for the past 9 years. Last year’s event featured a Meatball Melee where 10 New York City (and outer borough) finalists competed for the title of the “Best Meatball of the Boroughs” and the year before, the competition centered around burgers. Fun! This year, the annual tasting event shines a spotlight on seasonal food with “The Flavors of the Fall.” Chef Andrea and Chef Rocco will be put on the spot for a 5 ingredient cooking challenge and one lucky winner will join them as well. In addition to winning a chance to be on the culinary stage with Andrea and Rocco, the winner will also receive a prize package with a $150 gift card to Rocco’s, Trattoria L’Incontro and a personal coaching lesson with Andrea that focuses on healthy living. And besides all the cooking fun, there will be plenty of local restaurants on-hand, showering you with their signature dishes and drinks. After all…it is a tasting event and we can assure you that your money will be well spent–and you won’t walk out with an empty stomach.
