While walking along Newtown Avenue this weekend, I saw that a new 7-story mixed-use building is going to be built where a single family home, garage, and commercial space used to stand. Do you remember this house? it was set back, slightly higher than street level, and had some what seemed to be abandoned commercial space built in front of it.

According to city records there will be 20 units total, with office space on the first floor and retail in the basement. There will be 7 off-street parking spaces, too. The whole development will take up 13,768 square feet.

As you can see the first floor will head back to a point, a sort of unusual shape for a building.

Looks like they plan to have this finished by Fall 2016 and the address will be 31-23 Newtown Avenue. It’s a great location—close to transit and the bustling 30th Avenue area.
