SUMMARY:Rachel Sage- Think Gallery Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:NYC’s Think Gallery will present an art installation by East Village-based mixed-media artist Rachael Sage for the third time\, during the months of Sept and October. Sage\, who primarily paints with acrylics and watercolors but also works in collage (using man-made and organic materials such as sequins\, rhinestones\, newspaper\, dried flowers and eggshells)\, considers Think her second home. “It’s so great to have a socially-conscious\, relaxed place nearby where I can not only get my daily chai and read the newspaper among familiar friends and neighbors\, but to have a space where I’m regularly invited to show my artwork – that’s truly a luxury!” \nSage\, who is also a musician and poet\, names Keith Haring\, Miro\, Chagall\, and Patricia Field among her primary visual influences. As an artist\, she is known for her unique drawing style\, dense\, colorful paintings and glittery\, fabric-painted wearable art (which often doubles as stage-wear for her shows); some of Sage’s one-of-a-kind decorated clothing will also be on display alongside her paintings\, as a nod to New York Fashion Week. The official reception for Sage’s exhibition coincides with the last day of New York Fashion week\, September 15th; from 7-9pm\, free wine will be served and locals can meet the artist as she unveils her latest fashion-inspired artwork. \n*Think Gallery is located at 1 Bleecker Street near Bowery \nwww.rachaelsage.com \nwww.thinkcoffeenyc.com \n
