We’re teaming up with TriviaNYC in preparation for the Junior World Quizzing Championships. Kids aged 10-18 are welcome to stop by for an intro to quizzing featuring a Vocab section where they will compete individually and a Trivia section where we will divide attendees into teams. In honor of everyone’s favorite brick superhero, we will be theming the afternoon around LEGO Batman.
Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.
Here’s a little background on the Junior World Quizzing Championships:
Show what you know! The second annual Junior World Quizzing Championships (JWQC) will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, across the globe. All students at New York area high schools are encouraged to participate. The JWQC follows a similar format to the World Quizzing Championships (WQC) which take place annually in over 40 countries. Players attempt to answer carefully-written questions in a wide variety of categories. The Junior version of the QWC is similar in format, with adjustments for length and difficulty. There are 15 questions in 8 categories or “genres” answered over the course of two 45-minute periods. The genres are: Culture, Entertainment, History, Lifestyle, Media, Science, Sport, and World.
