Join the Mindful Astoria community this spring for an 8-week course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), the curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment. Studies indicate that mindfulness-based stress reduction programs can reduce anxiety and increase general well-being and overall happiness.
Over the course of eight weeks, we will learn several different forms of mindfulness practices such as mindful breathing, walking meditation, and mindful movement. We will practice bringing mindfulness into daily activities, stressful situations, self-care, work, relationships, communication, and more.
The orientation is free to attend, but we recommend registering if you want to reserve a spot in the course.

Course fee: Early bird $300 until March 29 $325 after March 29.
8 students minimum, 16 maximum. In the event that the course sells out prior to orientation, a waitlist will be available.
Refund policy Notice of cancellation by Friday April 8th (1 day after Orientation): Full refund minus $20 processing fee. Notice of cancellation by Friday April 15th (1 day after Class 1): 50% of the course fee will be refunded. No refunds will be granted after Friday April 15th.
About the teacher, Emily Herzlin. Emily Herzlin has been practicing mindfulness meditation for thirteen years, and trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School. She is also a graduate of the Yearlong Immersion and Teacher Training program at the Interdependence Project, where she currently teaches MBSR.
