The Little Orchestra Society is excited to announce this year’s community workshop series at the Queens Library at Steinway, entitled “Bringing Stories to Life through Music.” This series is developed to excite and engage your children in new ways by using stories to explore the building blocks of everyday sounds, melodies, rhythms, and music making. Each Saturday session will connect literature with musical creativity, giving children the opportunity to experiment with new ways of self-expression (singing, playing simple instruments, and creating sounds to represent ideas). The workshops are meant for your children (ages 5-7) to attend one or many over the course of the spring, with a new book and a new concept featured at each workshop. This program is funded through DYCD on the recommendation of Council Member Costa Constantinides.
