ALEX GILVARRY is the author of the novels Eastman Was Here and From the Memoirs of a Non-Enemy Combatant, winner of the Hornblower Award for a First Book and Best New Voice 2012 by Bookspan, and selected by the New York Times as an Editor’s Choice. He is a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 honoree and has received fellowships from the Harry Ransom Center and the Norman Mailer Center. He lives in Staten Island, New York and is a professor at Monmouth University where he teaches fiction.
ELEANOR HENDERSON’s debut novel Ten Thousand Saints was named one of the 10 Best Books of 2011 by The New York Times, was a finalist for the Award for First Fiction from The Los Angeles Times, and was made into a movie in 2015. With Anna Solomon she is also co-editor of Labor Day: True Birth Stories by Today’s Best Women Writers (FSG, 2014). An associate professor at Ithaca College, she lives in Ithaca, New York, with her husband and two sons. Her second novel, The Twelve-Mile Straight, was published by Ecco in September.
RACHEL KHONG is the author of debut novel Goodbye, Vitamin (Henry Holt, 2017), which the New York Times Book Review called a “quietly brilliant disquisition on family relationships and adulthood.” From 2011 to 2016, she was the managing editor, then executive editor, of Lucky Peach magazine. Her fiction and nonfiction have appeared in Tin House, Joyland, American Short Fiction, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Believer, and California Sunday. She lives in San Francisco.
