LGBTQ Identities in the Middle Eastern Diaspora


A CONVERSATION WITH WAZINA ZONDON, EMAN EL HUSSEINI, FAREEHA KHAN, ON BEING GAY AND MIDDLE EASTERN FOLLOWED WITH MUSIC, FOOD, AND DRINKS.

We will be hosting this event in support of the short film Nadia Jaan, created by Sheila Haya and Enrico Falconi. The discussion will be held at the Zukor Theater, doors will open at 6:15pm, the panel will start at 6:45pm. Following the panel, there will be a reception held at George’s Restaurant (located in the same facility) with live music by the Afghan-American band, Good Company the Duo, composed of Arian and Yasemine Majhoob. All proceeds will go to the making of the film, Nadia Jaan.

Nadia Jaan is a film about an Afghan-American woman who must choose between the woman she loves, or the traditions and marriage that is expected of her. The film will feature an all Middle Eastern cast.
