Kids ages 4-14 will cook alongside former New York Yankee pitcher Ramiro Mendoza at Bareburger in Astoria this Sunday (June 11th). During the one-hour class, students will join Mendoza and Bareburger’s culinary director Chef John Lemon, in preparing Bareburger’s Falafel Cups (with whipped feta, green hummus and mint yogurt sauce). They will also tour the restaurant’s kitchen, learn how to set a restaurant-style table and sit to enjoy together their prepared dish.
For one week following the class (June 12th – 17th) Bareburger will donate 100 percent of the sales of every Falafel dish sold back to Allergic to Salad, an after-school and in-school culinary program that teaches kids pre-K through middle school cooking and life skills. The donation money will be used to fund additional after-school programs.
