Newtown Literary presents WALKING AND WRITING THROUGH ELMHURST\, a walking tour of the neighborhood with stops along the way to learn and inspire some writing (if you’re so inclined). Admission is free. Meet at 1 p.m. at Elmhurst’s library\, Broadway between Justice & 51st Avenues.  \nThe R train at Grand Ave. is one block from the library; if the R is not stopping there due to track work\, go to 71st Ave./Forest Hills and transfer to a Manhattan/Brooklyn-bound R to Grand Ave. \nNewtown Literary is an organization dedicated to writers from and writing about Queens. Its namesake\, Newtown\, is the colonial town that grew into the present-day neighborhood of Elmhurst. Newtown Literary publishes a semi-annual literary journal of the same name (in electronic and paper formats) featuring fiction\, creative nonfiction\, essays and poetry. \n
