Join us for the very first session of our Reading Series EN CONSTRUCCIÓN: New Works by Latin American Writers.
EN CONSTRUCCIÓN is a series of literary readings that aims to offer a creative and collaborative space for New York-based writers whose primary language is Spanish. En Construcción gives writers the opportunity to showcase their work with an artistic and wider audience in order to share literary concerns, creative tools, general ideas, and constructive feedback. Additionally, En Construcción provides writers with a platform to establish or to tap into a professional network in New York City and, more particularly, in Queens.
Writers will read an unfinished or not yet completed piece and, later during reception, share with the audience the creative process behind this work (genesis of the idea, challenges, concerns, etc.) in an informal conversation with those interested. In this way, writers will encourage a constructive conversation with attendees and get feedback for their own work.
In our first session, we will have four amazing writers: Natasha Tiniacos (Venezuela), Ángel Antonio Ruiz-Laboy (Puerto Rico), Salomé Benalcazar (Ecuador), and Janilka Romero (Puerto Rico).
