Join us for an evening with Queens author David Burr Gerrard in celebration of his new novel, The Epiphany Machine. Gerrard will be in conversation with Angelica Baker, whose debut novel Our Little Racket has been called a “timely and powerful exploration of greed and hubris” by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, author of The Nest.
In Gerrard’s sophomore novel, he explores a searing alternative history of New York City, from the 1960’s to the near future, in which a tattoo machine is rumored to inscribe insightful assessments on its users’ forearms—with irreversible consequences. Gerrard’s narrative follows Venter, a bright but lost young man, as he falls into possession of the machine and follows its consequences throughout his life.
