Astoria Park Earth Day


Outdoor Programming, Volunteer Opportunities, Fun Festivities!

Astoria Park Alliance is hosting a nature-themed Shore Fest Spring Kickoff celebration that will feature community volunteer opportunities, free public programming and the re-opening of the renovated Bocce Ball Court.

In honor of Earth Day, Shore Blvd will be closed to traffic and feature educational activities from The Queens Botanical Gardens, Big Reuse, Hellgate Farm, among others.

Learn about composting, gardening, recycling, water conservation and natures gifts of bees and bats.

Programming events are scheduled to take place between 2-5 pm and will include live music from The Band of New York, recycling relay races, a scavenger hunt, child-friendly games, fun prizes plus fitness activities including Yoga, Zumba & Tai Chi.

The newly refurbished Bocce Ball Court ribbon cutting with Council member Costa Constantinides will take place at 3:30 at the base of the Great Lawn.

3:00 – Big Brother Big Sister Dance Performance
