Join us at the Astoria Bookshop for our new Feminist Mosaic Reading Group. Led by Jen Adams, each month we’ll read a book and examine it through the lens of modern feminism. For our first group meeting, we’ll read the 1985 Margaret Atwood classic, “The Handmaid’s Tale.” All women and allies, teens and up, are welcome to join this group. We will also be accepting diapers and feminine hygiene products to donate to local women’s shelters.
Over the course of the series, we’ll read books from a variety of women writers and use them as a springboard to explore a wide range of women’s issues, including reproductive rights, equity in the workplace and school, intersectional feminism, and body image and self-care.
