FRANK SINATRA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS PRESENTS ANNUAL FILM FESTIVAL ON MAY 4, 2019
(Queens, NY –March 29, 2019) Frank Sinatra School of the Arts presents its annual Film Festival, which will be hosted on May 4th, 2019. The day will be dedicated to Frank Sinatra’s film students and will highlight their top films of the 2018-19 school year. The Film Festival will feature a competition for its entries and give students an opportunity to nominate their films for awards such as Best Edited, Best Directed, Best Script, Best Sound Design, Best Production Design and more.

On May 4th at 2pm, Freshman, Sophomore and Junior class films will be screened to the the public. At 6pm, “Senior Night” will begin with the debut of the senior class’s thesis films and serves as a proper farewell to Frank Sinatra’s film seniors. The students will have the opportunity to display their senior thesis and films that they have created during the school year. This is a chance to honor their achievement in the program and to properly praise them and their hard work. For the public, this is an opportunity to experience new voices at the start of their creative journeys.

The funds raised by the film festival will be used to further support the school’s film program for the following school year, including funding for cameras, sound equipment, lighting and more. It will allow for students to continue to create more films for the next festival of 2020 and beyond.

About Frank Sinatra School of the Arts Film/Media Program:
Frank Sinatra School of the Arts (FSSA) offers the opportunity for all students to achieve their fullest academic and artistic potential. This is accomplished through a rigorous educational program, which includes a challenging academic program, pre-conservatory studio work, experiences with cultural institutions, and intensive participation in community service. The school was founded by world-renowned entertainer, Tony Bennett, and his wife Susan Benedetto, to honor Tony’s late friend and colleague, Frank Sinatra. At Mr. Bennett’s encouragement, students are offered the opportunity to gain real world experience in the arts through internships and apprenticeships.
