Twitter Facebook Email Print The poster still says January 19 and 20, but the event has been pushed back to the 26th and 27th! In the mood for something different somewhere familiar? Look no further than this weekend’s culinary event, known as the Viking Homestead Kitchen Takeover. Hosted at Astoria Provisions, it will feature a group of local chefs working together to create a memorable meal for the neighborhood. This will be the first in what is planned to be a series of popup events, hosted at a different location each time. The debut kitchen takeover will feature George Rallis, formerly of William Hallet and Hellgate Social and Matt Olley, formerly of Vintage and The Ditty in the kitchen, with Nicki Carnaggio of Sparrow Tavern, Dawid Dabrowicz of Vesta, Jay Kahn of Sanfords, and James Ortiz of The Ditty running the front of house. Future events will feature chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers from favorite restaurants in each neighborhood. The five-course dinner will include lamb tartare, wild boar carpaccio, duck cassoulet, and more, with wine pairings for each. There’s even Mighty Oak coffee to go with dessert. If you’re interested, you can view the full menu and purchase tickets online, which include tax and tip in the price. Originally, the event was slated for January 19 and 20, but has been rescheduled for January 26 and 27. Both dinners start at 7pm, and be advised there is a limit of 30 guests per night. And if you go, let us know if there really are Vikings involved.
