On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, 6:30-8:30pm, LAB at QCA presents “Textured Sights,” paintings by Shenna Vaughn created to represent the fluidity of all genders. Shenna uses a variety of techniques and materials to help produce 3D works on canvas. A series of works of art in progress will be shared that consists of paintings depicting social and cultural differences rather than biological with regards to gender.
The idea for “Textured Sights” was inspired by all of the conversations and cultural and political landscape during the last U.S. Presidential election. The concept behind this body of work is to highlight the gender gap realities around the world- in business, health, education and politics. Attendees will have an opportunity to provide the artist feedback on her work and ask questions about her process.
