Jan 29 – Fleshpot on 42nd Street (1973) Writer/Director: Andy Milligan No-budget Times Square sleaze auteur Andy Milligan’s accidental masterpiece of early 70s hustlers and deadbeats, from a man who knew it well. March 5 – Club Sandwich (2013) Writer/Director: Fernando Eimbcke Mommy issues threaten to derail a young man’s summer romance. Proceeded by Bruno (2007) by NYC’s own Sam Goetz. March 19 – Soft for Digging (2001) Writer/Director: JT Petty Chilling understated art-house horror from Brooklyn director JT Petty. Proceeded by The Giant (2012) by local filmmaker David Raboy. April 2 – The Taste of Tea (2004) Writer/Director: Katsuhito Ishii Psychedelic take on the dreams, hopes and fears of one small-town Japanese family. Proceeded by City Paradise (2004), animated short film by Gaelle Denis. April 16 – Nothing Lasts Forever (1984) Writer/Director: Tom Schiller The weirdest film Bill Murray’s ever done. A smash at Cannes, financed and then abandoned by Warner Brothers. Proceeded by BAFTA-winning The Eagleman Stag (2011) by Mikey Please. April 30 – Melody (1971) Director: Warris Hussein Lovely film about two UK pre-teens who decide to get married and become terrorists when they are not allowed.
