Queens Art Express is coming!

The Queens Council on the Arts (QCA) presents the Queens Art Express 2011 (QAX 2011) in just a couple of weeks. What is the Queens Art Express? It’s a festival celebrating and honoring the arts, culture, and commerce along the 7 line and the N/Q/R lines. It lasts for four days, from June 16-19.  Events will be held in Long Island City and Astoria (as well as Sunnyside, Jackson Heights, Corona and Flushing).

Art lovers and local food fans will be more than pleased by the offerings this year – you’ll find literary readings, comedy, dance premieres, art openings, music, and theatre performances galore, not to mention deals at local establishments. Additionally,  through the MTA Deals program, select merchants in the festival are offering delicious deals if you show them your MetroCard or QAXAPP between 6/15 and 8/15.

To start the celebrating, a kick off party has been planned at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Astoria. The proceeds from your $25 ticket will go toward QCA’s work of fostering and developing the arts in the borough of Queens. Truly a bargain. We hope you will consider purchasing a ticket and partaking in the fun!
