To prove Astoria is one of the coolest, most diverse neighborhoods out there, we wanted to highlight two weekend food events that couldn’t be more different, both held at our beloved beer garden spaces. Whether you’re into the traditional feast of meat taking place at the Bohemian Hall, or a (free!) hip hop brunch at Studio Square, our hood has something for everyone.

As we mentioned in our weekly What To Do series, the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden will be hosting Pork Fest this weekend, an extravaganza of Czech and Slovak meats and live entertainment. If you’re looking to start your Super Bowl power-eating early, this is the place to do it. The event starts Friday at 5pm and goes all weekend, giving you plenty of chances to indulge in some meat-y goodness.

A completely different (but super awesome) event will be taking place at Studio Square‘s Bulb Room on February 21st. Mark your calendars for the “Not So Boujie” Hip Hop brunch, featuring a live performance from Jadakiss. You can expect to hear tracks from Top 5 Dead or Alive, his most recent album, as well as DJ sets from DJ Shortkuts and DJ Triple Threat. Tickets are free for ladies from 3-5pm, and can be reserved on Ticketfly here. Gather your girlfriends and get your brunch (with beats) on!
