The Ramen Chicken Chonut Pops Up at Rockaway Brewing Company

 

You’ve heard of the Cronut, but how about the Chonut? Kimchi Smoke will be bringing this delightful new culinary mashup (pictured above) to a Pop Up event at Rockaway Brewing Company this Saturday, October 17 from 5pm-10pm.

What exactly is this chonut? It’s got chicken, it’s got ramen, and it’s got deep-fried goodness, but I’ll leave it to the creators to describe it in detail. From the folks at Kimchi Smoke:

“Hickory smoked chicken thighs will be dipped in soju batter then coated with ramen bits and deep fried to golden perfection, which will be topped with Gochu Citron sauce and Korean Slaw and placed in between a glazed donut. It will be smoky, it will be savory, it will be crunchy, it will be be spicy, and it will be sweet. And it will change your life.”

The featured item will be $13, and will be served to adventurous Queens eaters just one day after making a splash at the New York City Food and Wine Festival, at an event hosted by Man Vs. Food’s Adam Richman.
