Mighty Balls is definitely cute. It’s got thoughtful decorations and a nice atmosphere (they didn’t have AC when I went, but the temperature was still bearable). I love the setup of the menu and how easy it is to order — you pick your balls, how you want them (bread or bare), your sauces (listed in order of hot-level), and you can add cheese for an extra dollar. Because of how you order and the price point ($7-$10), I’d mark Mighty Balls under the fast casual category.

A great place for vegetarians, vegans, and those who care about labels like organic and gluten-free, Mighty Balls offers a lot of those options.

I ordered a veggie, bean, and a turkey ball. I really like that there’s no limit to mixing balls, sauces, and cheeses — so many combo opportunities. My favorite part of the meal was at the end, dipping the last bit of my balls into the mix of all the sauce and cheese I’d picked. I stayed away from the spiciest sauce, African onion, but actually liked that the best (stole some from my boyfriend’s meal, it wasn’t too spicy). You can buy a jar of any of the sauces for $9.

This concept is a lot of fun and definitely worth checking out.
