Twitter Facebook Email Print As a former freelancer and an occasional work from homer, I’m constantly wishing for breakfast items outside of the norm bagel-to-go scenario. I was PUMPED when I learned that R’A’R Bar was open for breakfast and lunch! If that wasn’t awesome enough, you can also pick up your lunch to-go (more on that later), or hang out and take advantage of the flowing coffee and FREE Wifi. During our breakfast tasting (crazy that we had a breakfast tasting right?) we tried out eleven different dishes, check out the highlights below. My photo skills are limited at best, Marielle Solan is our photographer du jour. (She just doesn’t take great photos of food btw, check out her portfolio!) First up, Tina’s Super Breakfast. A layer of cottage cheese with strawberry kefir topped with flax, hemp, chia seeds, and oats. Generally I don’t eat breakfast I just have coffee, and if I eat breakfast I don’t go the healthy route, so I was skeptical about this dish. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It felt healthy, but it was actually really good. The kefir was smooth and sweet, the cottage cheese gave it some texture, and the all the different “seed” toppings gave it a crunch. In a hurry? You can take a coffee and any assorted pastry to go. Pictured here The Pasteli Cinnamon roll, Bloody Mary doughnut, Chia energy bites, Honolulu oat cake, and big fluffy homemade marshmallows. I enjoyed the Honolulu cake immensely. A little on the denser side because of the oats, but a nice sweetness. Anytime I do dinner, drinks, or brunch at R’A’R I always gravitate to the fried chicken, so it’s no surprise that I liked the Southern Breakfast. Buttermilk fried chicken underneath an egg, lettuce, and tomato slice. Although not a breakfast dish; as mentioned above you can head over to R’A’R for lunch. Or you can grab salads and sandwiches to go. My coworkers were so jealous of my salad made with mix greens, quinoa, tomato, fried artichokes, balsamic beets, shredded carrots, and grilled chicken. It was healthy, delicious, and I didn’t have to face the mid-town lunch crowd later in the day. Grab breakfast and coffee to go, get out of the house, get a great lunch on your day off, whatever the case- Tina is ready to see you.
