We’ve been delighted to see Racked—the fashionable cousin to snarky real estate blog Curbed and always-something-in-their-mouth blog Eater—give some love to Western Queens (Astoria and LIC). This week they set their sights on Astoria and three weeks ago they focused on LIC. These posts give you suggestions for a “perfect Saturday” in either neighborhood. For Astoria, they suggest Snowdonia, Astoria Bookshop, Lockwood, The Furniture Market, Loveday 31, MOMI, Astoria Park + Sweet Jane’s, ending at the Beer Garden. Not a bad lineup, if we do say so. Over in LIC, their suggestions are LIC Market, LIC Flea, Just Things, LIC: Living, MoMA PS1 (including ARTBOOK), and Emily Salon. We’d also add Gantry or Hunters Point South Park in that mix, since the views are so amazing, and LIC Landing is there, too. How about you? What constitutes your “perfect Saturday” in Astoria or LIC?
