Have you heard? One of LIC’s most beloved barbershops, Otis & Finn, has opened a second location. It’s located at 11-11 44th Road in LIC (between 11th Street and 21st Street) and is larger than their first spot. And don’t worry: they are still serving complimentary bourbon for all customers!

Owners Shawn and Kirk are some of the nicest guys around, so we caught up with them to find out what to expect from the new spot. Check out their answers below!

Why are you excited about the new location?

We are excited about the new barbershop because it’s an opportunity to continue to build and expand on the sense of community that we quickly established at our Court Square location. Our clients enjoy coming to the shop, meeting their neighbors, talking about what’s new in the neighborhood, and just generally what’s happening around us.   

We are also excited because the new location is a new part of the neighborhood, so we see it as a chance to put another community outpost in a different part of the neighborhood and bring our services to new clients who may not have been familiar with us in Court Square.

 

What can visitors expect from the new location that is different than before?

The 44th Road location is more spacious and has five barber chairs. As a result, we recently were able to add a few incredibly talented barbers to our roster. In addition, we added a lot more seating and space for clients to hang out and mingle before and after their cuts or shaves.  
 
With the new space, we tried to keep the same industrial design aspects that we loved in our first location, which the neighborhood is known for. 

 

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

The thing that we are most proud of is that our shop is an open and welcoming place for everyone.  We have an incredibly diverse clientele from all walks of life and we love that and celebrate that.  Our hope is that all our clients will feel that and feel welcome as soon as they walk in the door.
