New “Best Pizza Shop” Comes to 34th Ave Nino’s AQ Is Going To Open Any Minute! If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s pizza. We already have some pretty awesome pizza in the neighborhood, but a new shop is always welcome. So we were excited when Butcher Bar‘s Matthew Katakis teamed up with Juan Sanchez of Long Island City pizza shop sLICe to bring their beloved ‘za to 30th Avenue. We stopped by last week to try a few slices (what else?) and will most definitely be back. Without further adieu, here are some photos that demonstrate the tastiness being served up at the newest pizza shop in Astoria. White Slice Creamy, crispy, and oh-so-cheesy, the white slice is a must-order. The big scoops of ricotta cheese are just heavenly. Regular Slice Come on, just look at that. You already know you’re gonna love it. So simple, but why mess with perfection? Margherita Slice The sauce on the margherita slice had a nice sweetness to it, and the basil/cheese combo was just what I was hoping for. Sicilian Slice If the thick, rectangular Sicilian slices are your jam, give these a try. Look at them! They’re just begging to be heated up and devoured. In addition to slices and pies, they also have heros, pastas, entrees like chicken parm, mini calzones, salads, and appetizers like meatballs, wings, and polenta fries. Heads up: when we stopped by last week, they were NOT accepting credit cards, so be sure to have cash on hand. Have you visited sLICe Astoria yet? Tell us what you think! January 7th, 2017 Was there just yesterday, Friday, January 6, 2017. Didn’t get a slice because the Stromboli looked so good, and it was. We also tried the short rib meatballs and they are outstanding. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
