Epic Halloween Decorations on 28th Street We’ve shared photos of this house before, but this year we had a number of readers write to us about it. WHA reader Amy sent the best description, and some photos/video: “22-13 26th Street in Astoria, Queens is the best Halloween decorated house in NYC!!! I’m sure your readers will enjoy visiting or reading about my friend’s spirited house. It’s taken years for 35-year-old attorney, Vicky Poumpouridis, to curate such a spooktacular collection. She searches for the perfect decorations year-round and starts laying out the overall design of animatronics, props, and lighting well in advance of Halloween (I’ve seen the 2-story drawn-to-scale sketch to prove it). The resulting vision rivals Disney World’s Tower of Terror. With help from her sister, 38-year-old cardiologist Kyriaki Poumpouridis, Vicky has prepared her house to welcome the hundreds of trick-or-treaters who dare approach for their sweet reward.” Here are some additional photos: You can watch a video of it here, too. So, if you are trick-or-treating, or just enjoying a walk around the neighborhood to see the different light displays (here’s our post from last year), definitely make a stop here. Happy Halloween!!
