It’s our annual Best of Astoria Bash! We’re heading over to Ditmars and partying with our friends at The Pomeroy on Monday, May 9th. We are pumped to see you; our readers, small business community leaders, and all of our Best of Astoria nominees! We wanted to share a preview of the good food, good booze, and all the fun in store for ticket holders. First and foremost-unlimited Blue Point Summer Ale all party long. Drink it up to your hearts content. Also flowing unlimitedly…Sangria! Also on deck in the drink department, two drink tickets that you can use on Goose Island Summer Kolsch or a special cocktail served up just for us, called the Astoria Love. The Astoria love is made with blueberries, Meyer Lemon lemonade, Vodka (my favorite), and mint. (*Above picture is of a different Pomeroy cocktail, we just want you to see what they can do) The Pomeory makes mean meatballs. Imagine these guys, but in mini form as part of our hors d’oeuvres. Along with the mini meatballs, we’ve also got mini aricini balls. (yummy) Also on the appetizer front how gorgeous are these Polenta fries? Okay vegetarians get ready because these next ones are for you. First up, the Pomeory’s Market Salad featuring Boston Bibb lettuce, French Breakfast radish, baby French carrots, sugar snap peas, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, croutons, feta and toasted pumpkin seeds. (aww yeah!) Another veggie dish, the beloved kale and brussels salad. Made with toasted almonds, ricotta salata, apple, and red onion. I’m not big on eating my veggies, but I’m planning on eating a lot of this salad. Sounds delicious! Vegetarians, you’ve had your fun, now it’s the omnivores turn. Doesn’t this fried chicken look finger licking good? This chicken is served up with a side Yukon gold potatoes. Food isn’t all we’ve got; don’t forget our beloved Goody bag swag! Items from Astoria Coffee, Bareburger, Burnside Biscuits, Rocky McBride’s, Sac’s Place, and The Brass Owl-just to name a few- but we can’t spoil all the surprises! Let’s talk entertainment. Haus of Mimosa is back and they’re more fabulous than ever. Honey get ready! After the winners are announced and the party comes to a close, join us at The Ditty for a little after-party action!! Mention We Heart Astoria and get $2 off ALL DRINKS! This very special deal is available from 9:00 pm-Close. Hope to see you there!
