To kick off the season, The Bonnie will be hosting a Summer Pig Roast this Saturday, May 21, and it sounds like a great time! The day will feature live music starting at 3pm from Matt Dickey Group and Morgan O’Kane, and the power eating will begin at about 4:30pm. A $25 ticket, which can be purchased at the door, will earn you an enormous plate of food, plus one beer or glass of rose sangria. The crave-worthy menu includes: -Roasted Berkshire pork with mojo marinade -Elote corn salad with pickled jalapeños & chicharrones -Potato salad with pickled and grilled ramps and bacon vinaigrette -Cornbread with honey-whipped lardo -Bean salad with cilantro goddess dressing and pancetta crumble Okay, now we’re hungry! For more information and updates, the official Facebook event can be found here. The weather is looking a little iffy for 5/21, so if Astoria gets hit with rain on Saturday, the event will be moved to Sunday. We’ll keep you posted!
