You’ve no doubt seen (and perhaps eaten) the variety of products that have come out of this place—sauces from Mel’s Melting Pot, cake pops and brownies from The Chocolate Swirl, and gooey butter cake from Gooey & Co, among many others (over the years, they’ve helped launch more than 500 small businesses). Certainly one of the tastiest parts of this annual event is the free samples, and it’s a great way to discover a new taste treat made right here in Queens. There will be around 30 vendors offering sweet, spicy, and savory items. According to the E-Space, you’ll have the chance to try samples by Pretzel Man, who makes “soft, doughy balls stuffed with ingredients such as cheddar cheese, peanut butter, and chocolate.” And look for for Yu Bakery, which produces “healthy, gluten-free snacks with yucca,” the aforementioned Gooey & Co., bakers of various flavors of St. Louis-style gooey butter cake, and then there’s Little Bird—they candy spicy jalapeƱo peppers, enrobing them in rich dark chocolate with a sprinkle of sea salt. They’re expecting about 250 people at the party, and there will be an opportunity to network—perhaps over a glass of vino from our friends at SquareWine or a caffeinated beverage from COFFEED. Here are the event details—be sure to RSVP ahead of time. Wednesday, March 30, 6-8pm The Entrepreneur Space 36-46 37th Street RSVP here.
