Twitter Facebook Email Print It may not seem like it with the crazy weather lately, but trust us: summer is coming! We couldn’t be more excited to ditch the grey dreariness and soak up some sunshine, which is why we’re pumped to hear about Go Wild NYC, an outdoor adventures company that organizes all sorts of gorgeous getaways from the city. And the best part? Many of the trips depart from our neighborhood! Go Wild NYC (also known as NYC Beach Bums) takes city dwellers like ourselves out of the concrete jungle and into Mother Nature. If you can’t wait to hit the beach, they have plenty of options, both for camping and day-tripping. Looking for a quick burst of sunshine? Rockaway Beach, Robert Moses, and Montauk are just a ride away. If camping is more your speed, Hither Hills, Smith Point, and Otis Pike are all waiting for you. Maybe the mountains are more your scene. How about getting your blood pumping with some hiking? They offer that too. Their most popular destinations include North Point, Kaaterskill Falls, and Huckleberry Point. Okay, so maybe you’re the hearty type who loves winter sports, and you’re still hoping to get your kicks on the slopes. They have that too! Ski and snowboard trips to Hunter, Mount Snow, and Windham are also available for the snowbirds out there. Be sure to bundle up! And now for those of you who need a little extra adrenaline rush: how about an extreme trip? We’re talking zip-lining, hang gliding, skydiving, paintball, and jet-skiing. Nothing like some high-octane activities to slam the door on winter! All regularly scheduled trips provide pick up in Long Island City, Astoria, and Sunnyside. (MoMA PS1 is a common pickup location.) Keep an eye on their website for updates on all upcoming trips. See you in the sunshine!
