For those of you that have been reading here for a while, you know I love the products at The Little Soap Shop—Vivian’s products are so wonderful and always feel good on my (somewhat sensitive) skin. I especially love how her bar soaps are neither drying nor tacky on my skin as so many handmade soaps can be. I can’t recommend them enough. After so many years of more or less flying solo in her space on 36th Street (adjacent to 60 Beans, BTW), Vivian is partnering up with her friend and fellow Astorian Elena Marinakis Poumpouras to carry Elena’s line of children’s clothing, Nellie Pie. Elena designs them here in Astoria, and you’ll find clothes for both boys and girls alike. Photo credit: Nellie Pie They are doing an event this weekend to introduce Nellie Pie’s clothig and accessories at The Little Soap Shop, and you’ll also be able to pick up Vivian’s soaps and lotions, too. Extra treats include nibbles of cheese and chocolates, as well as 10% off all purchases. Pick up a free potpourri sachet while you’re there, too! The fun goes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Little Soap Shop is located at 22-07B 36th Street in Astoria.
