Twitter Facebook Email Print Last month we told you about Q.E.D., a new performance space/skill share community space on 23rd Ave. Good news—they are having an open house tomorrow night (Wednesday) from 7 to 9 p.m.! Their space is just about done, so you’ll have a chance to see where the performances and teaching will happen; Kambri tells us, “the place is about 85% ready.” Love the look of their stage in the back: Photo credit: Q.E.D. The open house also serves as an opening reception for the art exhibit that’s up, Seeing Stories. The artists will be there! More on the show: Any representational image has the power to imply a narrative since our imaginations naturally construct stories, filling in the gaps, reading between the details, and building bridges between what we see and what we know. Seeing Stories presents three artists who make particularly powerful use of the viewer’s penchant to sympathize with depictions that are rich with familiarity and nuance. The show runs from October 10 to December 13. The art—lenticulars, oil paintings, and wood carvings—is also for sale for a short time. QED’s owner, Kambri Crews, will also be there, and will be available to answer any questions or curiosities about Q.E.D. By the way, Q.E.D.’s official opening will be Monday, November 3, with Frank Conniff’s “Cartoon Dump” on tap for the evening’s entertainment.
