A couple of weeks ago, Meg and I ventured over to check out Glassful, a new wine shop/wine service start-up. It’s located in the same building as the Brooklyn Grange, and is on the ground floor next to COFFEED. During our time there, we chatted over a bottle of one of their favorite labels, and learned more about their arrival in the neighborhood.

Glassful is both an online monthly membership wine service and full-serve wine shop. What makes them different from the rest is their precise algorithm for picking the perfect labels that match your taste in wine. A simple quiz is all it takes to get a tailored preference. You can take the quiz online and set up a profile, or take the quiz in store and the Glassful team will direct you to wines that are good fit for your palate.

Interestingly enough, Meg and I both took the test and came out almost identical—which made sharing a bottle of wine easy (and delicious). We are mostly white wine drinkers with an occasional openness to a juicy red variety; AKA Menage White.

If you sign up for their monthly membership program,  you’ll get a selection of three wines based on your preferences delivered right to your door. Fun fact, if you want to pick up your box monthly at their store location, there is a discount! Each month the box has a different fun theme; Octobers theme Hallow-wine (hilarious!). WHA readers can receive $20 off their first box: use the code WEHEARTASTORIA.

Curious to know more? Head over to Glassful’s shop at 37-18 Northern Blvd, or stay connected with upcoming monthly themes and all things wine with them on Facebook and Twitter. Here’s to always finding the best bottle for the occasion (even if that’s an evening at home in front of the TV).
