The Next Instameet is in Astoria on June 21 – Walk, Shoot, Eat, and a Giveaway

Do you love photography? Do you love Instagram? Then this upcoming Astoria Instawalk is for you! Join other photographers at this Instagram meetup (which begat the portmanteau, Instameet) where snaps and chat will flow freely (but not Snapchat). The event is organized by the folks behind the @instagramnyc Instagram page.

The plan is to meet at Dutch Kills Green at 3 p.m. on June 21, and head more or less north along 31st Street to eventually end around Broadway. At that point the plan is to conclude over drinks and food at a local Mexican joint (exact location TBD, but we would totally be into Los Portales with their veggie tacos, veal tacos, and giant containers of horchata—anyway, we’ll let you know).

This event officially sponsored by ONA Bags, which is using the event to formally launch their Astoria bag which is named for the neighborhood (we’ve reached out to ONA to see what exactly it is about the neighborhood that inspired them to name a bag after it). The bag is made of water-resistant waxed canvas with leather details. They will be giving away one bag and offering a 10% discount to 10 lucky photographers who show up.
