On a lovely week like this one, we hope you take advantage of the many delicious eats available in the neighborhood. On sunny days, why not stroll and make yourself comfortable in one of Astoria and LIC’s outdoor eating and drinking destinations?
Speaking of outdoor spaces, help Snowdonia get a sidewalk cafe by signing their petition. It’ll come in handy once the warm days really start rolling in. We love their pickled veggies and the fish and chips! 34-55 32nd Street, Astoria. 347.730.5783
BareBurger on Ditmars is taking a little hiatus for some renovation until this coming Friday when it’ll open back up at 5 p.m. In the meantime, you can always visit their original 31st Avenue location, which is hooked up with a full bar. 33-21 31st Avenue, Astoria. 718.777.7011
Have you seen this awesome wrap-up of 5 Best Restaurants in Little Egypt, courtesy of the Village Voice? How many have you been to?
There’s lots of fun events planned for the upcoming Queens Beer Week. This NY Bacon & Beer Feast at Alewife caught our attention, where they’ll be featuring 30 different brews and all sorts of bacon cuts. Get your tickets here. 5-14 51st Avenue, LIC. 718.937.7494
Are you planning on visiting the LIC Flea this weekend? We checked it out during its inaugural weekend and had few nice experiences, including these foodie highlights. 5-25 46th Avenue, LIC.
After the Flea, we indulged in a few late afternoon cocktails at the nearby Sweetleaf. I highly recommend the Tarzan, which offers a nice combination of fruity, tart and refreshing flavors. 46-15 Center Blvd, LIC. 347.527.1038
Salon du Coffee on 35th ave & 37th is re-opening as a restaurant this week (today?) under the same management. As I work from home a few blocks away, I will miss being able to go there to get out of the apartment to do some work.
