Following on Twitter and added this place to my Christmas wish list suggestions :)
I love that Astoria is safe, fun to walk and see what you find, that we have Astoria Park, and the neighborhood feel – getting away from the skyscrapers and hustle/bustle of the city.
Liked on Facebook, followed on twitter.
I love everything about Astoria! Being from the Midwest, the community feeling reminds me of home. Combined with the incredibly close proximity to Midtown, it’s the best of both worlds!
Liked it! I love that Astoria is a working class neighborhood with multiple backgrounds and cuisines. This is a real neighborhood where it’s not uncommon to wave hello to the owners of your favorite restaurant or fruit stand and I hope it stays that way.
I love that Astoria has such a small town feel while being so close to a big city. The people go out of their way to be neighborly and helpful. You can get just about any experience you might want from the area, from fine dining to awesome shops, gorgeous views and parks, entertainment and relaxation. Coming to NYC from a small town 6 years ago was a big deal for me and very scary, but landing in Astoria made all the difference in how I view life here on the east coast.
Liked on facebook and followed on twitter. I love the diversity of astoria. Walking down Broadway, I can get some of the best bagels in the city, followed by a Vendy-award winning falafel stand, pop into a Japanese supermarket, pick up some pan dulce for breakfast at the Mexican bakeries, drop by for a cocktail and ribs at a phenomenal bbq joint, and pick up some arepas for dinner all on my walk from the train to home. How is that even possible?! Astoria.
Following in Twitter….pick me!
Liked on Facebook! My favorite thing about Astoria is all the great food! Specifically Sugarfreak, The NY Dog House (new and delicious on 30th Ave!), and Locale
Liked on Facebook! I love the diversity of restaurants!
LIked on FB, My favorite thing about Astoria is all the amazing food and sense of community here.
Liked Inside Astoria on Facebook, and surprised I hadn’t had already. I moved to Astoria 4 years ago, we fell in love with the small town feel of the area. Astoria has changed so much, love the entrepreneur small businesses that make up the neighborhood. It’s a great place for young professionals and families without the pretenous hype that other areas in NYC has!
Astoria is the fourth neighborhood in the city I’ve lived in, and it’s my favorite. I love that we have great restaurants and local businesses, but it remains a low key, relatively affordable family neighborhood (and I liked Inside Astoria on Facebook). Happy holidays!
Liked on FB…Born and raised…there’s no place like Astoria!
Liked on facebook (and in real life)! My favorite thing about Astoria is going into all the small European groceries and finding new things to try!
I love Astoria so much, the diversity, the food, the creative people. Most of all I love to run at the track in Astoria Park on a misty day.
Following and liked! I love so much about the only NYC neighborhood I’ve ever lived in, but I especially love talking my dog for a walk to Socrates Sculpture Park. I get to see and interact with all the cool outdoor installations, meet other Astorians (and their dogs!) and bring a lunch from one of my fave Astoria restaurants while basking in the sun.
I heart Astoria!
Liked on Facebook, what a FANTASTIC prize! Like lots of other people here, my favorite thing about Astoria is the sense of community here. I’ve been here 8.5 years, and while I love all parts of the city (and love hanging out in all the bouroughs), I can’t see myself living anywhere else in NYC.

What I love most about Astoria is the community feeling that I have whenever I walk through the neighborhood. From the locally owned restaurants, the amazing local shops, and the incredible people that you meet. Even the online community is so willing to help out newcomers & give great advice. I remember when I first came to Astoria and tweeted to We Heart Astoria & Why Leave Astoria asking if anyone knew of a good framing shop. Mackenzi quickly replied “There’s a place next to Site! Here’s the address.” I left Astoria for a few short months and I am so glad to be back in a place where I truly feel at home in my neighborhood.
I love Inside Astoria! Just followed them on Twitter! Astoria is the best place to live..and one of my favorite things about living in this city is that there is never a lack of great places to eat or grab a drink.. there is always a new cool place or a comfy favorite to turn to. It has become a multicultural foodie heaven!
Liked on Facebook! My favorite part of Astoria is all the great craft beer offered at bars and restaurants!

I originally come from a small town in Colorado with very little diversity, so my favorite part of living is Astoria is the amazing array of people and their acceptance of one another. Not only are there people from an extensive amount of different ethnicities and backgrounds, but they all seem to truly care for and accept one another. Nowhere else in NYC that I have been has such an amazing sense of pride and community amongst such a diverse group of people!
Followed on Twitter! My favorite thing about Astoria is the long list of locally owned restaurants to choose from every night for dinner. And the local bars are super accommodating to small businesses who need space for events!
I liked on facebook. My favorite thing about loving in Astoria is all of the local, independently owned shops (like Inside Astoria!) and all of the incredible, diverse food choices within walking distance. You just can’t find any other place like it in NYC.

I love how Astoria has such a strong sense of community. Even though each avenue has its own unique feel, it still has a great “neighborhood-y” vibe that I didn’t feel when I live in Manhattan.
Just followed them on Twitter. My favourite thing about Astoria is the Astor Room. Man, I love that place.
Followed on Twitter – lived in Astoria for 10 years and I love the small town feeling. We truly NEVER have to leave Astoria – and I think most of us are happy to stay put.
I like your website and I liked you on Facebook :) Please pick me
Followed on twitter. Astoria was the first place I lived when I moved to NYC. I did a stint in Brooklyn and came back because of the amazing community of people in the area. I love the diversity and food and just the community feel of the neighborhood. Also, Hellgate Bridge is Best Bridge.
Liked on FB. I’ve lived in Astoria 30+ years and what I love most is the diversity of its residents. Though things have changed a lot over the years it will always be home.
and btw: that prize pack looks EPIC!
loved on FB for a while. Fave part of astoria is the Hellgate. many an afternoon after highschool (at the prep) was spent picnicing and doing homework on the grass nearby listening to the trains overhead and just enjoying it, despite it needing a new paint job. many years later it also became the site of my husband’s marriage proposal =) he paid attention to the things i loved most.
Liked on FB. What I love most about Astoria is the diverse, friendly, down-to-earth people.
I liked Inside Astoria on Facebook and followed them on Twitter. What I love about Astoria is the diverse culture and of course, the FOOD! :) I can’t get enough of trying out all of the different cuisines and great eats in the neighborhood. I moved here from Brooklyn about a year and a half ago and could not be happier about my choice. I love living in an energetic and accepting community.
liked on facebook! i love that astoria has so many great restaurants, bars, and shops, all within walking distance.
I followed them on twitter, and my favorite thing about Astoria is the incredible diversity of cuisines available.
Liked on Facebook! I love living in Astoria because of the sense of community and the beauty of the neighborhood! There is always something new to discover here.
Liked on facebook! I love Astoria — I love when I get off the train their are people of all shapes, sizes, ages, and nationalities. I like seeing little babies taking walks with their old greek babushkas. It feels like a real neighborhood of real people who have come together from all different walks of life — natives and transplants alike — to create a community of people who found a sanctuary away from tourists and the bustle of Manhattan. I also like that I can wear my pajamas to Brooklyn Bagel for an emergency Sunday bagel without the all-consuming fear of running into a coworker.
Done and done. Love Inside Astoria, I go there whenever I can’t think of a gift for someone and always leave with something unique.
like on fb! they say Queens is one of the biggest melting pots in the US, well, you see that in Astoria! On my block, there is an old Greek/Italian couple that owns a house (which I feel is quite rare now) that his been there for 50 years! When I go to the grocery on the weekends I see both of them sweeping/cleaning there stoop and they always say good morning (nice good ole community feel) , BUT it’s nice to also live in an new apartment building with young professionals from different parts of the world. And not only do you see it in the people you see it in the food – from the old Greek Tavernas to the new Japanese Ramen spots to the unique shops like Inside Astoria and Lockwood! – I TRULY HEART ASTORIA!!
Liked on facebook. The best thing about Astoria is its friendly, welcoming residents.
Oh, I liked Inside Astoria on FB long ago! Great neighborhood shop! Now “following” too. So many things to love about Astoria! What comes to mind is Astoria sunsets, looking west at the Hell Gate and Triboro (RFK) Bridges with Manhattan beyond.
Dual done-ness, FB & Twtr. This sounds like an awesome pack!
I liked them on facebook. I love that Astoria isn’t (yet, hopefully never) just a repeating pattern of starbucks, dunkin donuts, duane reade, etc. Small businesses are awesome. Plus, Astoria has some of the best restaurants anywhere.
And, yes, I liked Inside Astoria on FB.
In the nearly five years I’ve lived in New York, I’ve lived in Manhattan, Astoria, Brooklyn and then back to Astoria. It’s the only place that’s ever felt like home to this NY transplant. The neighborhood is vibrant, yet quaint enough, to provide the ultimate urban experience for its residents. The neighborhood’s mix of cultural backgrounds has sprouted into a small business community that offers everything for Astorians. The neighborhood has allowed me to plant my roots in a city I was a stranger to five years ago, and that’s why I love Astoria.
Love this prize! Just liked them on FB. We just moved to the nabe so I’m still figuring out what I love most about Astoria but so far it’s Brooklyn Bagel :)
I love the community feel of Astoria and how it is big enough to meet new people but small enough that you can all talk about the same restaurants and businesses that you love.

Following! I love all the small businesses in our town. The owners always care about what they’re selling and it makes shopping fun. Not to mention it feels good to support neighbors instead of big box stores.
I love the community feeling of Astoria! There’s so many things to do, and I love that I live on a quiet, residential street but I’m just one block away from great restaurants, bars, etc.
