Twitter Facebook Email Print We are delighted to tell you that three years ago today – on March 15, 2010 – We Heart Astoria was born! And a little less than two weeks ago we were reborn with a beautiful redesign that we are thrilled with! It’s been our honor to represent, talk about, and support this great neighborhood, and we look forward to another year of the same. Many thanks to our great readership and fan base – we love you all! Thank you for your support these past three years. As we asked last year, we’ll ask again: what were your favorite moments of this past year? Was it a new restaurant or bar? A new to you discovery? Or revisiting an old favorite? Let us know your thoughts in the comments or tweet us at @weheartastoria! In the last year, one of my fave things is the appearance of Via Trente. One of my eternal faves remains SweetLeaf. And there are a number of events, of which the WHA party at Bear was one standout. Happy BDay WHA, many more. Reply Vivian Oxford March 15th, 2013 85 years ago, I was born in Astoria. My name was Vivian Phillips. – When I was five years old, my Mom enrolled my sister and I into the St. George Church Sunday School on 14th St. and 27th Ave. – When I grew up, I married the Reverend Donald Oxford. A year later we had a daughter who grew up to be a musician. Her daddy died when she was a baby, so when she grew up, I toured the world with her – She is now performing and working in Hollywood, CA. – I miss my home sweet home, Astoria and all the memories and friends. HAPPY BIRTHDAY. – I Heart Astoria. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
