Twitter Facebook Email Print While walking along 30th Ave to Leli’s Bakery this morning, I saw plywood up around a storefront and it immediately caught my attention. I was also glad to see there were Department of Buildings signs on the plywood, so I took a look. The part that really leaped out and grabbed my eyeballs is the phrase “ice cream/cafe establishment.” I took a look at the Department of Buildings record and it doesn’t give a clue as to what the name of the place is going to be. But ice cream! The space used to be a florist – Pavilion Florals We’ll keep an eye on it. I can’t wait to see what other surprises are in store around that intersection. Reply Marie March 31st, 2013 Totally, Ian. Especially since most of them aren’t even good Froyo. Red Mango needs to move further west or we need a Pink Berry on 30th! Or something like Malu from LIC. Reply megc March 31st, 2013 You can only imagine how much I’d love to see a Malu location in Astoria! Their ice cream is amazing! Reply Ian March 30th, 2013 Hopefully whatever pops up stands out from the Fro-Yo places that have become commonplace around these parts. Reply Marie March 30th, 2013 Totally excited for this! I thought they were just redoing the florist! I walk past here often on my way to work. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYour email address will not be published.
